Standardized Objective Services
Worker Rehabilitation
LCP co-ordinates and works in collaboration with the case manager, physician, employer and union to design an individualized program and where ever possible programs are provided at the job-site. Care is given to consider the unique characteristics of each worker and their work environment to ensure a lasting solution.
Physical Demands Analysis (PDA)
Objective measurements of the physical, environmental and cognitive demands of specific job tasks of the target position. Analysis of the demands of the job position results in recommendations for injury prevention.
Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)
The FCE is the cornerstone of a worker's rehabilitation plan. An FCE provides the assessment of the worker's physical capability to perform the specific job demands of the pre-injury or target occupation. The comparisons are made for strength, mobility, agility, and dexterity and measurements are provided in weight, frequency, and force.
LCP is the only company certified to conduct Functional Capacity Evaluations in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
Functional Restoration Program
Functional restoration programs provide a transition between acute care and return to work while addressing the issue of productivity, safety, physical tolerances and work behaviours. Programs use conditioning tasks that are graded to progressively improve the function of the individual in conjunction with real or simulated work activities. Programs are typically daily for 4 weeks duration.
Duty to Accommodate/RTW
Facilitation of RTW and duty to accommodate can be multi-faceted and complex, therefore can benefit from a third party to provide objective measureable modifications at the worksite. Modifications may include work tasks and/or hours to facilitate gradual return to target job as well as advice regarding medical and psychiatric symptom control and body mechanics.
Work Simulation Standard Testing
Work Simulation Standard testing provides a key component in the safety of both employees and public. Testing establishes the worker's base-line physical abilities to do the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Additionally beneficial to both the applicant and employer, testing provides an opportunity to instruct in proper body mechanics, postures and injury prevention strategies.
